This thing works like a charm. Spent the day in the sun, got the package, stuck it under my tongue - and it showed 99.1. Elevated temp due to being overheated in the sun all day.
I needed a reliable thermometer because I got one of those where you just press it to your forward and that thing was all over the damned place. This one, however gives a reliable temp time after time with just varying degrees of .2 or so on each reading.
If you're looking for a reliable thermometer, you've just gotta go with one that works.

Speed is the key, and this thermometer has the speed. If you have ever tried to measure temperature for a baby with fever, you know what I’m talking about. You have to hold a crying, squirming and uncomfortable baby still to wait for the thermometer to beep, and that’s gonna be the longest 15 seconds of your life. They say this one takes 8 seconds for measurement, but I feel it’s probably less than that, closer to 5. It’s super convenient and accurate as well. Last but not least, the LCD back light is a life saver in the middle of the dark night.

I bought 4 digital thermometers before this that didn't work (read in low 90's F). Though they were different brands, I belive the internals were likely made by the same company, which seems to have a quality control issue. This one is different from those -- uses a different battery, for example. And it works properly.

The backlight is a nice feature. I cannot hear the beep on any of the ones I got recently. It is apparently a frequency too high for older ears. I do have an old one that I can hear, so that could be fixed. For some reason nobody does. With the light it is not a problem.
